HIDDEN- Book Review. By Jack

This story is written by Marcel Prins and Peter Henk Steenhuis.

Hidden is a book that has 14 true stories about different people based on survival during the Holocaust because they were Jewish.

If you were to buy the book for someone for their birthday or Christmas, I would get it for someone over 12 years because it is all about how people survived the Holocaust and it might be pretty hard for people younger than 12 because some of the words are quite hard and could be quiet confronting for some people.

If I were to rate the book out of 10 I would rate it at a 10 because it is very interesting to read and it is good because there are 14 different true stories.

100 WORD CHALLENGE PROMPT#37 JACK

"Come on Charlie, we might be late for our flight to Brazil! " screamed James.
"Ok, settle down mate" said Charley.

When they got to the airport, they were so excited and went over to the gate where they were going to board the plane. They both looked around the airport to see a lot of Australians wearing Socceroo t-shirts. When they boarded the plane it was so crowded and it was very hard to move around to try and find their seats.
Charlie said to James "We might get split up from each other at the oval, but that's what happens in Brazil when it's so crowded!"

100 WORD CHALLENGE PROMPT#36 JACK

It was just a regular day until...

Sam woke up with a huge grin on his face because there was no school today. He looked out of his window to see all of the other kids that went to the other school on the other side of the town. Sam ran down to the kitchen to see his Mum and Dad cooking bacon and eggs for him. While he was eating it he saw a bowl of chocolates at the end of the table, he grabbed one and ate it. All this white and golden gooey thick stuff came out.

100 WORD CHALLENGE PROMPT #35 JACK

My FRIEND Charlie and I were going to our under 12's cricket game over in Alexandra. When we got there, I got straight out of the car to get my bag. When I got it, Charlie called me over to the rooms and he said to me, "where's the switch because it sure is dark, COLD and BLACK in here!" I felt around the walls until I found the switch and I turned the light on. When the game started our team was fielding first. The first ball was bowled and I started RUNNING after it.

When the game finished we drove out of the GATWAY to go home.

100 WORD CHALLENGE. PROMPT#34 JACK

It all started when I was walking down to the bus stop. I thought someone was watching me and I turned around and saw nothing.  I kept on walking and walking and I still thought someone was watching me. When I got to the bus stop all my other friends were there as well, waiting for the bus. I explained to my friends what happened while I was walking there. One of them said, “That’s what happened to me too!”

I really didn’t want to go to school and I thought about where could I go. I couldn’t go back home…

I was scared!

Buzz was a huge bee. He was on the loose and chasing people all around the town.

After a few shots at Buzz, he fell out of the sky and hit the ground with a deafening THUD! All the people were amazed that the Police had saved the town from the giant Buzz-Kill. Alfonzo went over to Buzz and he thanked all of the Police for saving the town.

Prompt #30 Jack

100 WORD CHALLENGE

I woke up to hear my Mum cooking something in the kitchen. I went downstairs to see bacon and eggs in the frying pan. Once I finished eating, I went to my cupboard in my room because I needed to get changed to go out shopping with Mum. When I opened the door of my cupboard I started screaming at the sight of a machete with dried up blood all over the blade. I ran down to Mum and told her what I saw!

Mum told me that my Dad was a murderer when I was a little kid that’s why he’s in jail right now! Eeeek!

THE END

Bike Baron- The Day I Jumped The Ramp!

THE DAY I JUMPED THE RAMP!

My tyres were rolling slowing, I revved the throttle and my bike started to go faster and faster. When I was half way up the ramp I felt a tingle go up my spine. I tried to back down but I couldn’t. When I was in the air my bike started doing a backflip. I was terrified!  The crowed was shouting with pleasure with what I had achieved. When I hit the ground I had an explosive stack.

I woke up in hospital a few days later with nurses all around me. I tried to move but I couldn’t. The nurses then decided to tell me that I would be paralysed for the rest of my life. The backflip was still worth it.
