Gallipoli Book Review by Nathan Beattie

Gallipoli  is a book about the war this story is written by Alan Tucker. It is part of the My Australian   Story series.

If you were going to read it, I would suggest you buy it for a teenager or an older person because it could be a bit upsetting or a bit full-on.


The reason why you should get this book is because it has a very good story line. It is fiction and it also has no-fiction included in the story. If  you like war, death and sadness it would be a good book for you.


If I was going to rate this story, I would rate this book a 7/10 because at the start it took a long time to get interesting, but when it got into the story it was a very good book

It was Easter Sunday. Charlie woke up with a great big smile on his face. He went out to the lounge room and saw a massive egg. He took a bite and golden and white syrup came out of the egg, it was the best day of his life.He went and told all his friends and they where so happy for him. They said "I didn't get any eggs".So Charlie took all his friends to his house and they all shared the giant egg together. After that day they were best friends for the rest of there lives.

I was running down the driveway on my way to the local footy. As I reached the gateway, a cold and bitter gust of wind hit my face. My friend Ben and I, were going to meet in the main street. Just before the main street a dark and black figure was slowly approaching me. When I saw Ben, we started to run down a dark passageway.
 He was getting closer and closer. I whispered to Ben, "what should we do?"
 Ben was speechless and said, "I don't know." All we could do was go down the tunnel and hope that he would not find us.

100 Word Challenge. Prompt#34 Nathan

It was a normal Sunday morning as Jack was going for his daily run, when he realised that he was being followed by a large gang. The first thing that came to his mind was to bolt.  That's what he did.  Then the gang started to chase after him. He was running down the alleyway when he realised there was a dead end. He thought to himself but where could I go? As he thought about it, there were loud gun shot sounds. That was when then air was filled with the sound of Police sirens. Jack was so thankful that the Police came to save him.

“Help! Help! There is a giant bee chasing me on Raglan Street” “We will be there in an instant” replied the Police.
As the Police arrived, the bee was eating Sammy. The Police called for ‘backup’ as soon as they saw him. When all the backup arrived, they started to shoot at the bee but the bee just dogged all the bullets and started to attack all the Police. The fighter jet finally arrived and shot the bee down. It was all over. The bee was on the ground dead. The Police were taking photos and taking swabs to test the DNA.

Jack woke up in excitement as it was the day of the Essendon and Hawthorn Grand Final 2014. The game started at 2:15pm so Jack’s mum had planned that they would go to the shopping centre first...but Jack argued and said, "No way! We won’t make it from there to the footy with all the traffic." His Mum just shook her head, turned and didn’t listen. They got in the car to leave the house at 12:00pm. Jack was nagging his mum as they got caught in traffic after they had been at the shops. Jack’s mum said, "Sorry, I thought I had enough time."

100 Word Challenge- Night Zookeeper

 I want to be a Night Zoo Keeper so I can kill all the monsters from Nilth and save all the magical animals because animals are cool, and without all the animals we would probably be dead. So I would fight all the monsters with my amazing c4 rhinos, and my machine gun monkey and my Pegasus and unicorns, would use magical lazer eyes and Pegasus would use her bladed  wings to chop the monsters in half. My main magic animal is my Easter Bunny that drops eggs which explode and that's why I want to be a Night Zoo Keeper.

Bike Baron- The Day I Jumped The Ramp

The Day I Jumped The Ramp!

I revved the bike, the crowd roared as I hit the jump. I felt a wobble and before I knew it, my tyre came off!

The crowd went silent as I hit the ground. Every one stood up to see. Paramedics were surrounding me as I stood up and the crowd sounded like an explosion... They were all screaming!

I thought about trying again but my bike was smashed to pieces. I turned and saw my cat who was lying on the ground behind me not moving. I felt a shiver up my spine as I wondered if he was dead or alive. I went over and luckily he was fine. I picked him up and held him in to the air and the crowd cheering, clapped me off the stadium.
