Mike sat up startled. His mother yelled, "Get up or you will be late for school!" Mike got up so quickly that he hit his head on his bunk bed. Rushing, quickly he got ready for school and he STILL had enough time to annoy his nosey, frustrating little brother. Mike decided to waste more time so he didn't have to go into school earlier. He distracted his mother and said he wanted to show her something. After he showed her they quickly hurried to the bus stop. They found out that the bus had already left. "But I thought I had enough time!" lied Mike.

I really like your use of language Maclaren. You use some excellent adjectives.I also like the way you step us through Mike's thinking. :-)
